February 10-11-12, 2017
Hours 09:00 – 17:00
The course is constructed as a comprehensive starter pack for people interested in drawing from life as an architect. This implies a good understanding of perspective and three-dimensional geometry combined with a relaxed sketch-like quality of rendering. The attendees will be taught in an Academic Manner principles and methods of perspective drawing, different rendering methods, from simple to more advanced ones, as well as a basic understanding of shadow projection.
The Teacher is Andrei Raducanu from Bucarest an architect that teaches at the Romanian National University of Arts; He is graduated from “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urbanism in 2010, I underwent a year of scholarship at the Dessau Institute of Architecture and a PhD in Politehnica University of Bucharest.
The base of all good architectural drawings is a correct structure, therefore the first day will focus on understanding perspective projection and methods that help building the structure of the drawing (show picture of structure-only drawings with the staircase and the rocking chair);
In order to complete a drawing, different methods of hatching as well as composition principles are explained.
In order to help attendees draw objects from imagination as well, additional geometric principles are explained regarding shadowing and perspective so that three-dimensional geometry can be drawn from different angles without necessarily perceiving the objects in real life.
