“This course covers the use of materials as well as essential skills needed as a prelude to Figure Drawing which Glenn learned at the beginning of his artistic training. He finds that this basic skill set is often missing in the training of artists today. The focus is as much on training the eye as the hand, with development of visual skills as well as how to study independently. Basic concepts in drawing and their application are demonstrated and incorporated into the weekly assignments, using the same basic materials that will be needed for the Figure Drawing courses. Intensive Human Anatomy Drawing Course Carlo Alberto PalumboThe intensive Course of Life Drawing Human Anatomy aims to capture of the main dynamics of human anatomical arrangements in geometric-structural key.

The work of Life Drawing from plaster bust and from the living model allows the student to recognize the geometric structures of the human body. An understanding of the many plans that make and build the figure can recognize and draw more informed its many manifestations.

L’Appia Antica (Latino and Italiano: Via Appia) era una delle più antiche e strategicamente più importanti Strade Romane dell’antica Repubblica romana . Collegava Roma a Brindisi, in Puglia. La sua importanza è indicata dal suo nome comune, citata dal poeta latino Publio Papinio Stazio:

“la via Appia, la Regina delle lunghe vie”

“The Queen of the Long Roads” (Appia teritur regina longarum viarum) this is how was called the Appia Antica Way, the most important Roman roads of the ancient republic reach of roman ruins.

The Appian Way (Latin and Italian: Via Appia) was one of the earliest and strategically most important Roman roads of the ancient republic. It connected Rome to Brindisi, Apulia, in southeast Italy. Its importance is indicated by its common name, recorded by Statius:

Appia teritur regina longarum viarum
“the Appian way is the queen of the long roads”

 When and How

G. L. Bernini - Salvator MundiWe meet Sunday 20th of September at 13:30 in front of the Basilica of St.Sebastian Fuori le Mura (Catacombe) each one equipped with a sketchpad, pencil and eraser.
We’ll visit the Basilica and, thanks to an exceptional authorization from the Parish Office, we’ll can sketch the famous Bernini’s busto titled “Salvator Mundi”.
Then we continue with the walk by feet along the Appia Antica Way to get to the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella. We sit on the park in front of it and we start again to draw the landscape.
The teacher Antonio Finelli (www.antoniofinelliarte.it) will give you some hints of perspective and proportion.
The event will end at 17:00

As the famous movie “Night at the museum”, Arts in Rome propose you a Sunday afternoon at the “GNAM” (National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art) in Rome to see one of the best Contemporary Art Collection and to approach its Masterpieces in person sketching and drawing thanks to the help of Antonio Finelli.

We meet Sunday 6th of September at 13:30 in front of the museum each one equipped with a sketchpad, pencil and eraser (not allowed in the museum colors, markers, watercolors, etc).
