Sketch at the MuseumThis is the first initiative of Arts in Rome Association, with the aim to approach the art lovers to Museums, Galleries and Churches, studying the Masterpieces, their history, drawing it with the help of Ceretificate Drawing Tutor

As the famous movie “Night at the museum”, Arts in Rome propose you a Sunday afternoon at the “GNAM” (National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art) in Rome to see one of the best Contemporary Art Collection and to approach its Masterpieces in person sketching and drawing thanks to the help of Antonio Finelli.

Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna RomeThe Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna (GNAM), or National Gallery of Modern Art, is an art gallery in Rome, Italy, founded in 1883 and dedicated to modern and contemporary art; the full name is Galleria nazionale d’arte moderna e contemporanea.[1] Are part of the National Gallery:[2] Museo Boncompagni Ludovisi per le arti decorative, Museo Hendrik C. Andersen, Raccoltà Manzù, Museo Mario Praz.

The National Gallery is located at Via delle Belle Arti, 113, near the Etruscan Museum. With itsneoclassical and Romantic paintings and sculptures, it marks a dramatic change from the glories of the Renaissance and ancient Rome. Its 75 rooms house the largest collection of works by 19th- and 20th-century Italian artists including Giuseppe Ferrari, Giacomo Balla, Umberto Boccioni,Giorgio de Chirico, Giovanni Fattori, Amedeo Modigliani, Giorgio Morandi, Giacomo Manzù,Alberto Burri, Antonio Canova, Felice Casorati and Lucio Fontana.

There are also a few notable works by foreign artists, including Calder, Cézanne, Duchamp,Giacometti, Braque, Degas, Kandinsky, Mondrian, Kostabi, Monet, Jackson Pollock, Rodin, Van Gogh and Klein.Wikipedia

 When and How

We meet Sunday 6th of September at 13:30 in front of the museum each one equipped with a sketchpad, pencil and eraser (not allowed in the museum colors, markers, watercolors, etc).

Summing Arts in Rome offers:

– An Afternoon at the Museum with audio guide included
– 3 hours of sketch and live drawing of masterpieces like sculpture, paintings with the support of a qualified teacher of Drawing
